Daniel Lasker (18) from Bulawayo is currently the headboy at Petra High School where he is wrapping up his Advanced level studies. Mr Lasker is a multi-talented artist whose dream to travel to Hollywood is about to become a reality after he was nominated to represent the country during WCOPA (World Championships Of Performing Arts)
“Since I was a young boy I have always wanted nothing more than to be an actor in Hollywood movies,”said Daniel.
Mr Lasker emerged in the film industry at a tender age of nine (9) and has been featuring in more than 11 plays since he began acting.
“I started acting at the age of nine and I have been acting in over than 11 plays since then and I have participated in various competitions such as Allied Arts ,where I have been awarded Honours for Acting,”elaborated Daniel.
During the WCOPA David will be representing the country in the ‘drama’ category.
He however told 263 Africatv that he is running a campaign through his social media platforms where he is seeking sponsorship to fulfill his dream to travel to Hollywood.
Daniel also stated that the sponsor’s brand will have a number of advantages such as their branding will appear on his championship logo.
“If anyone wishes to sponsor me they can simply do so by going to my facebook page. There is link to my Indiegogo campaign where they can make contributions,”he said.
One of the films that Daniel Lasker directed,’The Way It Is’, was nominated during the previous NAMA awards under the Outstanding Screen Production-Short Film category.
Daniel is also talented in the music sector and has has proven it when he did a cover for Adele’s song.
Last year the Zimbabwean team which went to the WCOPA included:Timothy Hogo, Sylent Nqo and Probeatz and they brought back home 15 medals.
